Bio

B.S. – Mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology. David’s background includes 17 years at Xerox as Director of Mechanical Engineering/Chief Product Design Architect. Prior to Xerox, he was a Staff Engineer at IBM. New product development has been his forte for 27+ years, so taking a VRIF from Xerox in December 2012 and starting eWind Solutions in 2013, made sense. He was inspired by an article in the December 2012 issue of Popular Science Magazine on the control of tethered flight. That article sparked his curiosity and so led him to other articles and white papers on airborne wind energy…the rest is history being made…
Katie Schaefer

Katie Schaefer

Director of Strategic Partnerships

Bio

Katie brings over 20 years experience in B2B sales, marketing and HR. Her role at eWindSolutions is to establish strategic partnerships with academia and relevant technology companies and utilities. Secure grant funding through these alliances. eWind is currently partnered with Oregon State University, Portland State University, Oregon BEST, and OTBC. Katie establishes company protocols, determines future hiring practices and all other human resource functions.
Brennan Gantner

Brennan Gantner

Director of Technical Development

Bio

Brennan brings aerodynamics and aerospace experience to eWind. He has a doctorate in Astrophysics from the University of Colorado where he designed, built and launched a NASA rocket for his thesis. He has also worked on several other space missions for NASA and Lockheed Martin including a solar X-ray telescope, a UV camera and a biology experiment for the space station. He also grew up on a farm in rural Oregon, giving him insight into likely local users of eWind products.

Bio

Sean brings years of engineering design and leadership experience to the team. His work will focus on software and control systems integration for both airborne and ground generation systems.
